Media and Digital Literacy (Reflection)

Media and Digital Literacy is what my group reported. We tackled the different aspects of this two like the problems of the media and the digital, what are they are not, the challenges, and tips on how to be literate with it. The most talked about these literacy are about the fake news of information, sharing and reacting on it. This is one of the problems that the society today is facing and it is hard to fight, and it damages different persons already. 

I know that mostly of us already received a text message or a call saying we won a cash prize and that is a form of spreading fake news. It feels true since they use big names and companies. Sometimes they send messages with links and when we click those links the chance is high that they will get our identities and any other important matters like the bank accounts. 

I already witness this one when one of my classmate's account was hacked, suddenly he chatted in all of our group chat and the message says click the important link. We have concluded that she clicked a suspicious link that made his account to send links to different group chat and to all his Facebook friends. Even me was afraid that I might click the link accidentally and that will happen to me also. 

Being a media and digital literate are a tool for us to survive in this age of technology. This will help us to be a wise consumer of the media and how to properly use it for the common good of everyone. The raise of the media and digital literacy gives different opportunities to the people and including an opportunity for the opportunist to trick people. 

There are different programs and awareness that can be read online to be educated and be aware on how to be a media and digital literate. Being knowledgeable about things prevent us from being a victim from the different issues inline with the use of media and the digital world.
